Web Enabled kWh Meter (WEM-MX)

The WEM-MX is a precision kWh meter (0.2%) for electricity metering. It is Internet enabled and performs power and energy metering. This smart meter will periodically store its kWh consumption data to flash memory. It comes with a rechargable lithium ion battery due to which, information loss is never an issue in the event of a power loss. It can act as a data recorder periodically storing the consumption data with a time stamp and reporting this information via email or ftp or web server.

This advanced meter will provide peak demand (kW with timestamp) to identify when exactly the highest usage occurred. Every month it will make a backup of the kWh and kW data registers and are available for preview via its on board web server. It can also email this information.

Its open system design facilitates world-wide deployment to populate applications with real time data based on accurate measurements. This electric meter is designed to meet requirements for data on demand from multiple users. Traditional meters focus only on single user applications at fixed time intervals.

The WEM-MX is the right solution in today’s complex energy markets combining low cost, high accuracy, minimum cost of communications with real time data access and reporting.

Our web enabled meter combines elements of simplicity, is highly functional and reduces overall ownership costs. Since most facilities already have an existing network, the cost of communication is virtually nil.

It has been successfully used in primary metering and sub metering. Typical applications have been in: tenant sub metering, tracking consumption to identify usage and peak demand, energy management projects, measuring energy output from solar / photo-voltaic panels, etc.

The supporting software application Energy@DeskTop enables an end-to-end solution from measurement to acquisition to energy management.

Energy Tracking's WEM-MX Internet Enabled Solid State ANSI C12.20 meter and its leading edge software application Energy@Desktop can be applied to suite your specific needs. For pulse metering applications, the Web enabled pulse logger will meet your needs and works with the Energy@DeskTop application as well.

Energy Management:

Get energy information right at your desktop. Access interval data, consumption, demand, compare usage and more. The Energy@Desktop shows the information in a chart and spreadsheet format, stores load profile and usage data and offers advanced features such as usage comparison and billing.
SubMetering:

Submeter tenant space, production / manufacturing, office buildings, retail stores, malls, apartment buildings.
Eliminate modems:

Our smart electric meter is able to send data over the Internet using file transfer protocol (FTP), email (SMTP) or via TCP/IP. Lower your metering costs by using the existing Internet connection or Local Area Network, avoiding PSTN based networks, maintenance of telephone lines and eliminate costs for dedicated phone lines.
Load Curtailment Projects:

Our advanced meter is an ideal product for Demand Response / Emergency Demand Reduction Programs. Contact us to show how this type of technology can and has been used.
Remote Meter Reading:

Automate and get fast accurate data over the Internet. The data is sent over the internet via TCP / IP, FTP and SMTP (email).
Benefits:

  • Better management of total energy usage.
  • Get details about the amount and timing of your energy use, so you can adjust accordingly and save money.
  • Advanced meter data can be used to compare costs between competing utilities and to arrange for bulk-rate purchasing.
  • Identify and implement operational strategies to control load factor, peak load requirements and reduce energy waste.
  • Understand and improve consumption patterns.
  • Measure and verify anticipated energy savings from energy efficiency modifications.
  • Secure a better pricing from the retail energy markets.
  • Highlight anomalies in electric consumption.
  • Interface the meter to a smart IP enabled thermostat for automatic demand and energy reduction. The meter pays for itself, simply by using this option.

Demand Reduction

  • Identify and assess on a real time basis the fiscal impact of the energy consumption.
  • Advanced notification via email of a higher peak demand being set.
  • Instantaneous real time access to measurement and metered data via the Internet or local network
